Overview

The Nursing Station is a dedicated workspace for nurses. It shows pending vitals recordings, medication administration schedules, and nursing assessments.

For small clinics with a nurse, this is the primary work screen for pre-consultation vitals and follow-up care.

Key Functions

  • Vitals recording -- Record patient vitals before they see the doctor
  • Medication administration -- Track injections, IV medications, and dressings given at the clinic
  • Nursing notes -- Document nursing observations and interventions
  • Task list -- Pending tasks assigned by the doctor (e.g., wound dressing change, injection schedule)
  • Patient handover -- Shift handover notes for clinics with multiple nursing shifts

Vitals Workflow

When a patient checks in for their appointment:

  1. The nurse opens the patient from the queue
  2. Records vitals: BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2, weight, height
  3. Saves and marks the patient as 'Vitals Done'
  4. The doctor sees the vitals pre-filled when they open the consultation

This separation of duties speeds up the overall consultation time.

Notes

Clinic tip

In a solo practice without a nurse, vitals recording is done by the doctor in the consultation screen. The Nursing Station module can be hidden from your sidebar via Settings.
