General

Q: What browsers does Bio Ecko support? A: Bio Ecko works on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (latest 2 versions). We recommend Chrome for the best experience.

Q: Can I use Bio Ecko on my phone or tablet? A: Yes. Bio Ecko is fully responsive and works on all screen sizes. The mobile experience is optimised for common tasks like viewing appointments, recording vitals, and checking dashboards.

Q: Is my data secure? A: Yes. Bio Ecko uses 256-bit AES encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. Data is hosted on ISO 27001 certified cloud infrastructure in India. Regular backups are taken every 6 hours.

Q: Can I export my data? A: Yes. All reports can be exported to PDF, Excel, or CSV. Patient data can be exported in bulk via the Admin module or API. You own your data.

Setup & Configuration

Q: How long does initial setup take? A: A solo doctor can complete setup in 10-15 minutes using the setup wizard. A hospital with multiple departments typically takes 2-4 hours for basic configuration plus 1-2 weeks for staff training.

Q: Can I import my existing patient data? A: Yes. Bio Ecko supports bulk patient import via Excel/CSV upload. Navigate to Admin > Data Import to upload patient demographics, contact details, and basic medical history.

Q: How do I add a new staff member? A: Go to Admin > Users > Add User. Enter their details, select their role, and save. They'll receive a login invitation via email.

Q: Can I customise the billing receipt format? A: Yes. Go to Admin > Settings > Billing > Receipt Format. You can configure the header, footer, logo placement, terms and conditions, and field layout.

Clinical

Q: Does Bio Ecko support ICD-10 coding? A: Yes. The diagnosis field supports ICD-10-CM with search-as-you-type. Start typing the condition name or code to find the right entry.

Q: Can I create prescription templates? A: Yes. Create templates under Clinical > Settings > Prescription Templates. Save commonly prescribed drug combinations (e.g., 'Fever Protocol', 'Diabetes Regimen') for one-click prescription generation.

Q: How does drug interaction checking work? A: When you add a medicine to a prescription, Bio Ecko checks it against the patient's current medications and allergies. Interactions are classified as Mild (info), Moderate (warning), or Severe (blocking alert).

Q: Can patients access their records online? A: Yes, if you enable the Patient Portal. Patients can view their visit summaries, prescriptions, lab reports, and bills through a secure login.

Billing & Finance

Q: Does Bio Ecko support GST billing? A: Yes. Configure your GSTIN and tax rates under Admin > Settings > Tax. Invoices automatically include CGST/SGST or IGST based on the patient/service location.

Q: Can I process insurance claims through Bio Ecko? A: Yes. The Insurance module supports TPA claim submission with pre-authorisation, claim filing, and settlement tracking. Supported formats include the standard Indian TPA claim format.

Q: How do I handle refunds? A: Navigate to the patient's bill, click Refund, enter the amount and reason. Refunds require approval from a user with the Refund permission. The GL is updated automatically.

Technical

Q: What happens if my internet goes down? A: Bio Ecko requires an internet connection to function. For areas with unreliable connectivity, we recommend a stable broadband connection with a mobile data backup.

Q: Is there an API for integration with other systems? A: Yes. Bio Ecko provides a REST API with OAuth 2.0 authentication. See the API Reference section of this documentation for details.

Q: How do I report a bug or request a feature? A: Contact Bio Ecko support at support@bioecko.com or raise a ticket from Help > Support within the application. Feature requests are reviewed quarterly.
