The Operation Theatre module manages the complete surgical workflow -- from surgery scheduling and pre-operative assessment through the intra-operative record to post-operative recovery. It coordinates surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, equipment, and OT rooms to ensure efficient surgical operations.
Surgery Scheduling
Schedule surgeries with:
- OT calendar with room-wise timeline view
- Surgeon and anesthetist availability checking
- Equipment requirement specification
- Estimated surgery duration with buffer time
- Priority levels (Elective, Urgent, Emergency)
- Patient pre-operative checklist auto-generation
- Consent form linking
- Blood reservation request to blood bank
The OT dashboard shows today's schedule with real-time status updates (Preparing, In Progress, Closing, Cleaning, Available).
Pre-Operative Assessment
Document pre-op readiness:
- Pre-anesthetic assessment (PAC) form with ASA classification
- Airway assessment (Mallampati score)
- NPO (nil per os) status verification
- Baseline vitals and lab results review
- Allergy and medication review
- Consent verification checklist
- Surgical site marking confirmation

Warning
The WHO Surgical Safety Checklist is mandatory. The system will not allow operative notes to be signed unless all three phases (Sign In, Time Out, Sign Out) are completed.
