Overview

The Blood Bank module manages the complete blood banking lifecycle -- donor management, blood collection, component separation, testing, inventory, cross-matching, issue, and transfusion monitoring.

This module is for hospitals with a licensed blood bank or blood storage centre. Nursing homes that receive blood from external blood banks can use the simplified transfusion tracking feature without full blood bank operations.

Key Features

  • Donor registration and eligibility screening
  • Blood collection with bag labelling and barcode tracking
  • Component separation (packed RBCs, FFP, platelets, cryoprecipitate)
  • Mandatory testing (HIV, HBV, HCV, syphilis, malaria)
  • ABO/Rh typing and antibody screening
  • Inventory management with real-time stock by component and blood group
  • Cross-match requests from clinical teams
  • Issue and return tracking
  • Transfusion reaction monitoring
  • NACO/SBTC compliance reports
  • Donor recall and camp management

For Nursing Homes

If your facility does not have a licensed blood bank but performs surgeries or manages patients needing transfusions:

  • Use the Cross-Match and Transfusion sub-modules only
  • Record blood received from external blood banks
  • Track transfusion administration and monitor for reactions
  • Maintain records for regulatory compliance
