Welcome to the Programme
This training programme is designed to take a complete fresher -- someone with no prior healthcare or ERP background -- and transform them into a confident, deployment-ready Bio Ecko Functional Consultant within 12-16 weeks. The curriculum is structured as seven progressive modules, each building on the previous one.
You do not need a medical degree. What you need is curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to spend time understanding how hospitals actually work before you configure software for them.
Programme Structure
The seven modules are sequenced intentionally. Do not skip ahead.
| Module | Title | Duration | Focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Healthcare Domain Fundamentals | Weeks 1-2 | Understand the hospital ecosystem, departments, clinical workflows, medical terminology, and coding systems |
| 2 | Regulatory & Compliance Landscape | Week 3 | NABH, Indian healthcare laws, ABDM, interoperability standards |
| 3 | ERP Fundamentals | Week 4 | What ERP means in healthcare, Bio Ecko architecture, data model, roles |
| 4 | Bio Ecko Module Deep-Dives | Weeks 5-7 | Hands-on walkthrough of every module group with exercises |
| 5 | Implementation Methodology | Weeks 8-10 | Full lifecycle: discovery through hypercare, with templates |
| 6 | Soft Skills & Professional Development | Week 11 | Stakeholder communication, change management, documentation |
| 7 | Career Development | Week 12 | Career roadmap, certifications, continuous learning |
Learning Approach
Each topic follows a consistent structure:
- Concept -- what it is and why it matters in a hospital context
- How it works in Bio Ecko -- where in the platform it appears, which tables it touches
- Hands-on exercise -- a guided task you perform in a sandbox environment
- Validation checklist -- how to verify you did it correctly
- Common pitfalls -- mistakes freshers make and how to avoid them
This is not a passive reading programme. You are expected to have a Bio Ecko sandbox environment open alongside these docs and practice every exercise.
Prerequisites
Before starting Module 1, ensure you have:
- Access to a Bio Ecko sandbox organization (ask your team lead)
- A login with
platform_adminrole so you can access all modules - A modern browser (Chrome or Edge recommended)
- A notebook or digital note-taking tool for your observations
- Completed the Bio Ecko Getting Started guide in the main docs
Assessment Milestones
Your progress will be assessed at three checkpoints:
| Checkpoint | After Module | Format | Pass Criteria |
|---|---|---|---|
| CP-1: Domain Knowledge | Module 2 | Written quiz (30 questions) | Score 80% or above on healthcare terminology, department functions, and regulatory basics |
| CP-2: Platform Proficiency | Module 4 | Hands-on lab (3 hours) | Configure a complete single-branch hospital from scratch with all master data |
| CP-3: Implementation Readiness | Module 6 | Mock implementation (2 days) | Run a simulated discovery + blueprint + CRP for a 50-bed hospital scenario |
You must pass each checkpoint before proceeding to the next set of modules. Retakes are allowed after a 48-hour review period.
How to Navigate This Section
In the sidebar, you will see the FC Training Programme listed under the Functional Consultant section. Each module is a separate page. Within each page, follow the sections top-to-bottom.
When a section references a Bio Ecko feature, it will mention the module name and navigation path (e.g., [Billing](/billing) > Fee Schedules). Open that module in your sandbox to follow along.
When a section references a database table, it uses backtick code formatting (e.g., patients, opd_visits). You can cross-reference these in the Data Model Primer page.
Time Commitment
Expect to invest 4-6 hours per day if following the 12-week full-time track, or 8-10 hours per week if following the 16-week part-time track. The majority of time should be spent in the sandbox, not just reading.
| Activity | % of Time |
|---|---|
| Reading documentation | 25% |
| Sandbox hands-on practice | 40% |
| Exercises and self-assessment | 20% |
| Discussion with mentors / peers | 15% |
Getting Help
If you are stuck at any point:
- Re-read the relevant section -- most answers are in the text
- Check the FC Scenarios section for end-to-end walkthroughs that may cover your question
- Search the main Bio Ecko documentation (it covers every module in depth)
- Ask your assigned mentor or post in the internal FC training channel
- If you suspect a platform bug, file an issue with steps to reproduce
Notes
Tip
Create a personal cheat sheet as you progress through each module. The act of summarizing in your own words dramatically improves retention.
Info
The sandbox environment resets weekly. Save any important test data or configurations you want to keep by exporting them before Friday evening.
Warning
Do not skip Module 1 even if you think you understand hospitals. Almost every fresher overestimates their domain knowledge and underestimates the depth of hospital operations.
