Overview
The Emergency module digitizes the entire ED workflow -- from patient arrival and triage through stabilization, disposition, and discharge or admission. It is designed for hospitals and nursing homes with dedicated emergency bays.
The module gives your ED team a real-time view of every patient in the department, their triage category, assigned bay, and time-in-department. Colour-coded triage tags (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green) ensure the sickest patients are always visible.
Key Features
- Manchester Triage System (MTS) based 5-level triage
- Real-time ED Bed Board with bay assignments
- Time-stamped clinical documentation (nurses notes, doctor notes)
- Trauma and resuscitation command worksheets
- Stroke and sepsis fast-track protocols with timed checklists
- Observation unit management for short-stay patients
- Direct admission pathway to IPD/ICU from ED
- ED discharge with safety-netting instructions
- Waiting area queue with estimated wait times
- Analytics -- door-to-doctor time, left-without-being-seen rate, ED throughput
ED teams classify urgency, stabilize the patient, and decide disposition quickly.
Patient arrives by walk-in, ambulance, or referral.
Nurse assigns color category and captures primary complaint.
Critical interventions and orders begin immediately.
Lab, imaging, and specialist calls are placed as needed.
Patient is discharged, admitted, transferred, or sent to OT.
When to Use This Module
Use the Emergency module if your facility has:
- A dedicated emergency or casualty section
- Round-the-clock or extended-hours emergency services
- Trauma or accident handling capabilities
Small clinics that handle only minor emergencies can use the standard OPD workflow with an 'Urgent' priority flag instead.
