Overview

The Canteen module manages staff and visitor cafeteria operations including menu management, POS billing, coupon/subsidy tracking, and consumption reporting.

Set up the canteen menu with items, categories, and prices. The POS terminal supports:

  • Quick-select menu buttons for fast billing during rush hours.
  • Staff ID card scanning for subsidised meals (deducted from payroll).
  • Visitor cash/UPI billing.
  • Meal coupon management for patients' attendants.
  • Daily sales summary with item-wise breakdown.

Staff Meal Subsidy

Configure meal subsidies per employee grade:

  • Full subsidy: Meal cost fully borne by the hospital.
  • Partial subsidy: Employee pays a co-pay amount.
  • No subsidy: Full price charged.

Subsidised meal consumption is tracked per employee and reported to HR/Finance for payroll deduction or accounting.

Reporting

Canteen reports include: Daily/monthly revenue, item-wise sales, staff subsidy costs, footfall by meal time, food cost vs revenue analysis, and wastage tracking.

Notes

Tip

Use staff ID card scanning for meal tracking -- it's faster than manual entry and provides accurate subsidy accounting.
