Overview

On-Call Scheduling manages after-hours and emergency duty assignments for doctors, specialists, and key support staff. It ensures that at least one qualified person is reachable for each department outside regular hours.

Creating Assignments

Navigate to HR > On-Call Scheduling:

  • Select the department and date.
  • Assign a primary on-call doctor and optionally a backup.
  • Define on-call hours (e.g., 8 PM to 8 AM, or full 24 hours on weekends).
  • Add special instructions or escalation notes.
  • Automated SMS/email notification to assigned staff upon scheduling.
  • Calendar view: see the full month's on-call coverage at a glance.

Integration & Compensation

On-call scheduling integrates with other modules:

  • Emergency: the on-call doctor for a department is auto-suggested when a case arrives.
  • Payroll: on-call hours and actual call-outs are tracked for compensation calculation.
  • On-call allowance rates can be configured per designation.
  • Call-out log: record when an on-call doctor was actually called in, with timestamps.
  • Monthly on-call summary report for payroll and compliance.
