Overview
The Staff Messaging module provides secure internal communication between hospital staff. Unlike personal messaging apps, messages sent through Bio Ecko are compliant with healthcare data privacy requirements and auditable.
Direct Messages
Send messages to individual staff members:
- Text messages with formatting.
- Attach files, images, or patient record links (access-controlled).
- Read receipts and delivery status.
- Message search and history.
- Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest.
Group Channels
Create group channels for team communication:
- Department channels: Auto-created for each department.
- On-call channels: Current duty team communication.
- Clinical handover: Shift-to-shift patient handover notes.
- Announcement channels: One-way broadcast from management.
- Custom channels for projects, committees, or working groups.
Clinical Alerts
Receive system-generated clinical alerts:
- Critical lab results requiring immediate attention.
- Patient deterioration alerts (early warning scores).
- Pharmacy drug interaction warnings.
- Radiology stat report notifications.
- Emergency code announcements.
