Overview
Roster Cycles are repeating rotation patterns that define a standard shift sequence for staff. Instead of manually assigning shifts each period, define the cycle once and Bio Ecko auto-generates the roster.
Creating a Cycle
Navigate to HR > Roster Cycles > New Cycle:
- Enter the cycle name (e.g., 'Nursing 4-2-1 Rotation').
- Set the cycle length in days (e.g., 7 days).
- Define the shift for each day of the cycle:
- Day 1-4: Morning, Day 5-6: Night, Day 7: Off.
- Assign the cycle to a department or group of employees.
- Set the start date for the first cycle.
- The pattern repeats automatically.
Cycle Management
Manage existing roster cycles:
- View all configured cycles with department, length, and staff count.
- Edit cycle patterns -- changes apply to future periods only.
- Deactivate cycles that are no longer used.
- Multiple cycles can coexist for different staff groups within the same department.
- Override: individual exceptions can be made on the roster planning grid.
Notes
Tip
Define roster cycles during implementation based on existing shift patterns. The auto-generation saves hours of manual scheduling each month.
