Overview

The MCH / Obstetrics module provides end-to-end care management for pregnant women and newborns -- from antenatal registration through delivery and postnatal follow-up. It includes specialized clinical documentation, fetal monitoring, high-risk pregnancy tracking, delivery records, and newborn care workflows.

Antenatal Care (ANC)

Manage the pregnancy journey:

• ANC registration with EDD (Expected Date of Delivery) calculation
• Visit schedule auto-generation based on gestational age (as per WHO/NHM guidelines)
• Antenatal card with visit-wise documentation (weight, BP, fundal height, fetal heart rate)
• Lab investigation tracking (blood group, Hb, HIV, HBsAg, urine routine, GTT)
• Ultrasound findings recording (12-week, 20-week anomaly scan, growth scans)
• High-risk pregnancy identification and alert flags
• Tetanus toxoid and iron-folic acid supplementation tracking
• Birth preparedness plan documentation

Labor & Delivery

Record the delivery process:

• Labor admission with partograph (digital)
• Cervical dilatation and descent tracking with graphical representation
• Fetal heart rate monitoring log
• Delivery record (type: NVD, LSCS, assisted; time, complications)
• Apgar score recording at 1 min and 5 min
• Newborn details (weight, length, head circumference, sex)
• Placenta examination record
• Blood loss estimation
• Immediate postpartum notes

For cesarean deliveries, the module integrates with the OT scheduling and surgical notes.

Postnatal & Newborn Care

Track mother and newborn after delivery:

• Postnatal visit schedule (6 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, 42 days)
• Breastfeeding initiation and counseling record
• Newborn examination findings
• Immunization schedule (BCG, OPV-0, Hep-B birth dose)
• Newborn screening test results
• Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) tracking for LBW babies
• NICU admission tracking with daily progress notes
• Discharge checklist for mother and baby
